Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Phone number. You sign in using your phone number and a one-time password (OTP). We store your phone number to create and secure your account.
• Plant photos. When you scan a plant, the app captures or accepts a photo for identification and health diagnosis.
• Location. With your permission, we collect your device's location (latitude and longitude), used to improve plant identification accuracy and to show local weather and your city.
• Scan history and credit balance. We store your past identifications and diagnoses and your remaining credits so you can view your plant history.
• Purchase information. Purchases of credits or subscriptions are processed by Google Play. We receive confirmation of a purchase but do not collect or store your card or payment details.
• Device notification token. We may collect a device token to send notifications you have enabled, such as care reminders.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Identify plants and diagnose plant health
• Show your scan history and saved plants
• Display local weather and your city
• Manage your account, credits, and purchases
• Send notifications you have opted into
• Operate, secure, and improve the app

3. Plant Images & Third-Party Processing

To identify a plant and assess its health, we send your photo — and, when available, your location coordinates — to Plant.id, operated by Kindwise s.r.o. (European Union). Plant.id processes the image to generate a result and deletes the image from its servers immediately after processing. Location coordinates are used to improve identification accuracy. Plant.id's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

We store a copy of your scanned photo in our secure Google Firebase storage so that it appears in your scan history ("My Plants"). We do not use your photos to train any AI model, and we do not sell or share your photos for marketing.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app:

• Plant.id (Kindwise s.r.o., EU) — receives your plant photo and location coordinates to perform identification and diagnosis (image deleted immediately after processing).
• Google (Firebase and Google Play) — provides authentication, database, storage, notifications, and purchase processing.
• Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not share your data with advertisers.

5. Data Retention

Your phone number, scan history, credit balance, and scanned photos are retained until you delete the scan or your account. Photos sent to Plant.id are deleted from Plant.id's servers immediately after processing. When you delete your account, we delete your associated personal data from our systems.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS) and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

7. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights & Choices

• Delete your account and data at any time from within the app [Profile → Settings → Delete Account], or by emailing us at info@scapeai.in.
• Manage location permission in your device settings. If revoked, identification still works but accuracy may be lower and the weather/city feature will be unavailable.
• Request access to, or correction of, the personal data we hold about you.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
